Tymaree Cook Renaud LMT, CD(Dona), CLC
Tymaree has been a licensed massage therapist for 20 years. She trained in swedish, shiatsu, sports and deep tissue at Swedish institute in NYC in 2002 and with Susan Rachel Condon for her Pre/Post Natal certification in 2006. As a freelancer, she does home visits and works on a varied clientele (12 years old to 86 years old, prenatal/postnatal, all shapes and sizes). Helping people to feel more at ease in their bodies, Tymaree has over the years developed a sensitivity to what each individual might need.
She has been a certified labor doula since January 2010. She joined the NYC Doula Collective shortly after her training and worked her way through the tiers. As a Board Member and aCo-Director for 5 years of the collective, she loves to mentor newer doulas and help to create community. She was a doula for 5 years before she had her own children. She studied childbirth education with ICE and teaches private childbirth education classes. As a certified lactation counselor, she can help families who choose to breast/chestfeed.
In 2009, she did her 200-hour yoga teacher certification at the Nosara Institute in Costa Rica. She studied Prenatal Yoga with the Prenatal Yoga Center in New York in 2010. Teaching prenatal group classes at Yoga People in Brooklyn for many years. She also had a group for prenatal and postpartum people to come together to share their successes and challenges at the yoga studio. She continued her advanced yoga studies at Abhaya Yoga in Brooklyn to complete her 500-hour certification in 2013. It was then when she delved deeper into private yoga sessions for people in their homes.
An avid traveler, she has lived, worked, and wandered in 45 countries. She marvels at synthesizing all these experiences and being present; appreciating the uniqueness and universal in every moment. Tymaree grew up in California but has lived in NYC since 2001. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from California College of the Arts in Printmaking and also has a deep love for photography. She then taught English in Japan with the JET Program in 1999-2000. Craving some more adventure she did Outward Bound in Costa Rica, Panama,Peru and Bolivia. Falling deeply in love with the rainforest, she volunteered on a farm for the rest of the year before she moved to NY.
She lives in Brooklyn with her two boys and partner, André.
